JOURNEY ALLEN

“journey” was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. During the wake of hurricane Katrina in 2005, the artist made the tough decision to leave New Orleans, Louisiana to begin a new life in Houston, TX, where she currently resides. “journey” is an avid member of the Project Row Houses Community where she fluidly exists as an artist, a resident of the Young Mothers in Residency Program, coordinator for the Project Row Houses’ teen program and the mother of two wonderful boys, Gerrick and Dujuan. While she is widely known for the intricate designs of her hand-painted jewelry pieces, journey also specializes in furniture refinishing and mural painting for child centered spaces.
